Indications
Zinc Sulfate tablet and syrup is indicated for the prophylaxis and treatment of Zinc deficiency states:
- Diarrhoea
- Severe growth retardation
- Recurrent respiratory tract infections
- Ichemia
- Dental disturbances
- Alopecia
- Loss of Appetite
- Night blindness
- Deformed bone formation
- Impaired immunological response
- Acrodermatitis enteropathica
- Parakeratotic skin lesion
- Effective & delayed wound healing
- Infertility
Zinc Sulfate dispersible tablet is indicated for the treatment of diarrhoea, especially for the children fr om 2 months to 5 years of age in connection with Oral Rehydration Salts (ORS)

Dosage
- Children under 10 kg: 1 teaspoonful or ½ tablet (If the children can swallow) 2 times daily or as directed by the physician.
- Children (10-30 kg): 1 tablet or 2 teaspoonfuls 1-3 times daily or as directed by the physician.
- Adults & Children over 30 kg: 2 tablets or 4teaspoonfuls1-3 times daily or as directed by the physician.
Zinc supplements are most effective if they are taken at least 1 hour before or 2 hour after a meal. However, if Zinc supplements cause stomach upset, they may be taken with a meal.
Administration
For dispersible tablet–
- Place the tablet in a teaspoon
- Add adequate amount of water
- Let the tablet dissolve completely
- Give the entire spoonful solution
